Relationship Resources

Relationships, whether they’re with romantic partners, friends, family members, or co-workers, are an important part of leading a healthy and fulfilling life. We are all wired to connect with other people - to belong, to love, and to be loved.

In a healthy relationship, people trust and respect each other, support each other, and communicate effectively.

But relationships aren’t always easy. Some relationships help bring out the best in you, while others may leave you feeling unsafe, hurt, frustrated, angry, or insecure.

It’s never too late to learn or improve the skills needed in healthy relationships

Relationship Resources:

Couple’s communication class helps you understand your communication styles and patterns so you can recognize what needs to change for a successful relationship. You will learn how to appreciate your partner and get through a disagreement, so you still love each other at the end of it.

Marriage preparation class focuses on building skills for a strong, healthy marriage by understanding effective communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, finances, parenting, and more, whether it's your first marriage or not.

Counselling: mental health therapists can work with individuals and couples on specific issues in their relationship.

Healthy Relationships group therapy is intended for people experiencing challenges in relationships. The group focuses on eliminating violence and abuse, and attaining more fulfilling relationships and a balanced life with less conflict.

The Family Centre acknowledges that we are on Treaty 6 territory, a traditional meeting ground, gathering place, and traveling route for the Cree, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Métis, Dene, and Nakota Sioux. We acknowledge all the many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit whose footsteps have marked these lands for centuries.
