Indigenous Teachings: For Those Who Want to Build Their Indigenous Knowledge and Practice
Who are these workshops for?
These classes are for leaders, supervisors, coordinators, front-line service providers, and/or volunteers working in the human services field. Our goal is to enhance the skills and capabilities of your team so that they’re equipped to support your service users and participants.
For client-focused workshops (parenting, self-improvement, anger management and more), please click here.
Who will be facilitating?
Our facilitators are full-time employees of The Family Centre, bringing experience from both direct service delivery and leadership roles. With extensive backgrounds in the non-profit human services sector, they excel at creating engaging and interactive learning environments tailored to the diverse needs of our community.
“Excellent presenter, really connected with the group!”
As we strive to keep our workshops interactive and participatory, we encourage groups to be no larger than about 20 participants. However, this recommendation will vary depending on the particular workshop being requested and the needs of your organization.
Where are the classes offered?
We often recommend meeting in person if possible. We find that meeting together in person increases interaction and engagement, which is more effective for adult learners.
However, we understand that in-person options may not always be feasible. Workshops can be held online in an accessible presentation platform (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.).
In-person workshops can be held either at your location or at The Family Centre.
How much does a workshop cost?
Our fees depend on several factors, including the type of workshop, the number of facilitators needed, how it will be delivered, and the size of your group. Please fill out the form below, and a quote will be provided to you.
Participants will receive a workbook containing workshop content, additional resources, and certificates of completion for each workshop.
How do I book a workshop?
If you have any questions or would like to book a class for your organization, please fill out the form, and our team will be in touch.
The Family Centre acknowledges that we are on Treaty 6 territory, a traditional meeting ground, gathering place, and traveling route for the Cree, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Métis, Dene, and Nakota Sioux. We acknowledge all the many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit whose footsteps have marked these lands for centuries.
