Our Workshops for Self Improvement:
Building Self Esteem
You will learn about the characteristics of self-esteem, self-defeating behaviours, and setting healthy boundaries in our Building Self Esteem workshop. This could be the first step you need in becoming seen and respected as the strong individual you are inside.
Do you find it difficult to speak up for yourself and share your opinion or feelings? In this course, you will learn how to express your feelings honestly, use "I" statements, and how to be assertive. You will feel more comfortable saying "no" and make your own choices.
Do you feel like you have a good understanding of the basics of self-esteem and assertiveness and are looking for a deeper look into yourself? Take a journey of self-discovery by creating a personality profile that helps to discover your personal 'why' by seeing the past and pushing for future goals and fulfillment.
Do you know someone who is struggling with addictions or maybe you are facing addiction challenges? Addictions are not just drugs or alcohol; it could be anything. In this workshop, you will learn about dependency, its impacts to your life, and how to help someone with an addiction.
Hardships & setbacks in childhood can have a lasting effect on you as an adult. These are called Adverse Childhood Experiences, or ACEs. In this class, you will learn how to navigate periods of hardship by understanding your personal history and how it has impacted how you're able to meet your needs today.
The Family Centre acknowledges that we are on Treaty 6 territory, a traditional meeting ground, gathering place, and traveling route for the Cree, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Métis, Dene, and Nakota Sioux. We acknowledge all the many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit whose footsteps have marked these lands for centuries.
